Review- One Night with Her Bachelor by Kat Latham

Title: One Night with Her Bachelor
Series: Bachelor Auction Book 6
Author: Kat Latham
Publisher: Tule Publishing
Release Date: March 27, 2015

Bid on a date with this wounded warrior for an unforgettable night of adventure. Aim high—and bid higher!—because no one comes close to local hero Gabriel Morales.

Molly Dekker hates being the town charity case, but when her son Josh is seriously injured she has no choice. She lets her best friend organize a bachelor auction to help pay her massive bills and make Josh’s life more comfortable. She can’t bid on any of the men, but a surprise bidder gives her a gift she never expected: a date with the man who saved her son’s life—the only one she’s in danger of losing her heart to.

Former Air Force pararescueman Gabriel Morales made a career of flying to the rescue, until a tragic helicopter crash stole more than his livelihood. Being auctioned off like a slab of beef isn’t in his recovery plan. But one look, one touch and one night unlocking Molly’s pent-up passion make him realize how badly he needs to be rescued…and how badly he wants to rescue Molly right back.

Will Molly and Gabriel’s never-quit attitude have them rushing head-first into love? Or will Gabriel’s secret pain stall their relationship before it can get off the ground?

I have to wonder if bachelor auctions happen in real life, and if they do, where they are...because I'd really like to pick up a Gabriel Morales for myself.

After a tragic accident left her 10 year old son, Josh in need of serious care, and her bills in serious need of payment, Molly Dekker reluctantly sets aside her pride to accept the help of her best friend, Lily, and her town.

There's only one man in the charity bachelor auction Lily has planned that Molly would bid on -- if she was allowed to bid. Gabriel Morales is the man that saved her son's life, a former Air Force pararescueman and himself recovering from tragedy.

When Gabriel is 'bought' for Molly, their one night together unlocks a passion that is irresistible and has them both questioning the future. But with Molly's responsibilities and the lingering effects of Gabriel's accident making him question himself, will they be able to find a way to make it work?

One Night with her Bachelor was sweet and fun, with a touch of humor and some serious feels thrown in for good measure. I really enjoyed reading this book, so much so that I kind of forgot myself and just keep reading through to the end. There's my Saturday gone...but not wasted. Definitely not wasted.

I loved Gabriel and Molly. They were a charming couple, both prideful and needing help, one able to ask for and accept it, one still trying to learn how. Gabriel, in particular, was wonderful with his questionable woodworking skills and big-heart hidden behind a gruff, hands-off exterior. I felt for what he'd experienced and lost, and I wanted him to own up to what he wanted and needed. And damn, when he danced, I swooned. Is it any wonder I want him for my own?

I'm hoping this is just the beginning of a new series for Kat Latham. I want to know more about Lily and the bachelor she bid on -- there has to be a story there... I'm a sucker for Ms. Latham's work, having picked this one up without even reading the blurb, and once again, she delivered a story full of life and humor and real people. Can you blame me for wanting more?
