My mother's name is Taylah, and once, a very long time ago, she was my best friend - she was everything I wanted to be.

Until the night she disappeared.

Ten years on and my life, my families lives and the world around us has never been the same again.
How can it be when you are left not knowing?

No leads. No connections. Nothing. Just pure emptiness.

My dancing is the only way I can separate myself from the pain that lies in my home, in my father's eyes and in my brother's spirit. They need me and I'll fight with everything I am to be there for them, but who will be there for me?

Then I meet Nate.

Champion Motocross racer and everything my father doesn't want for me. He's forbidden, he's beautiful, and he's carrying a bundle of his own secrets.

When I step into his world, there is no turning back.

He will consume me.

He will teach me how to breathe again.

He will put a tiny piece of my broken heart, back together.

Bella Jewel’s Best Book Yet!!!!

If you ask me for one word to describe Life After Taylah it would be ‘REAL’. Real characters, real life situations and thought provoking, real emotions. This book deals with extremely emotional topics such as a family member disappearing without a trace, infidelity and alcohol and drug abuse and how all of these issues impact on the loved ones closest to them. Although this book is fictional, the heartbreak and repercussions of these events are so expertly detailed it is evident that Bella has written this from personal experience (not her own but experiences of people very close to her heart, as detailed in her author note).

Life After Taylah is a journey you must experience, not just a book to be read. It will make you question your morals and reassess everything you believed was right or wrong. Bella Jewel has mastered yet another genre and proven that her talent knows no bounds.

Bella Jewel knows how to write a book that sucks you in. Life After Taylah was no exception. I honestly wasn't quite sure what to expect the entire time I was reading this book. The blurb is definitely intriguing and as soon as I read it I knew this one had to go in my TBR pile.

What we get is a multifaceted story of mystery, heartbreak and love. Real life sprinkled throughout fiction. If you read the author's note from Bella, you know parts of this book she personally experienced which gives an edge to this story since it was something she lived.

Life After Taylah is Ms. Jewel's most evocative novel to date. It makes you think, it makes you feel and it makes you question people's life choices. Sometimes out of personal tragedy comes beauty. Keep the tissues on hand, this one really got to me.

“Life throws you curveballs all the time, but it’s how you catch them that determines how your life is going to go.”

Talk about an emotional roller-coaster! This book had me smiling, laughing, and ugly crying! Avery has gone through more things in her life than any person should have to endure. When her mother just disappeared one day her life forever changed. She has a fiancé out of convenience, no real relationship with her father, and her brother is heavy into drug use. She is not really living; just surviving. That is until she meets Nate. Nate offers her a friendship that allows her to feel again.

Bella’s writing allows you to feel all the emotions that Avery finally allows herself to feel. I was so invested in Avery’s story and I felt every heart wrenching moment she went through, that it was almost like I went through it myself. The only thing left to say is READ THIS BOOK!
